THE DELETION is a 4 song EP that was written within a set of self-imposed parameters. This was done to not suppress the creative spirt, but to stimulate it. The result is an interesting set of songs that mixes genres.

Though initially seeking to express a more electronic punk sound, the baseline sound and feel that drives BLACKNAIL BIRD is still present throughout.

The lyrics were the last thing to be implemented, which allowed the music to find its natural course. As the writing of words began, the theme leaned towards paranoia about surveillance and mind control. Though nothing in particular is expressed in terms of an overarching story, the overall thematic structure adheres to this notion in the flow through each song.

The songs are short, aggressive, cold, and sterile. They show a different approach to song writing by BLACKNAIL BIRD. Surely, an evolution is seen, but at the same time a step is taken back to see with a broader view of the past, which is also incorporated into the songs.
